Welcome to Shepherd Park

Shepherd Park was initially constructed in the early 1900s as the House of the Good Shepherd.  Shepherd Park sits on a self-contained pastoral campus in Hartfords West End, just east of the West Hartford town line, and provides excellent access to local and regional highways, local services, and downtown Hartford by public transportation and more.

Shepherd Park is a community set on 13 beautifully landscaped acres of land. There are seven buildings specifically designed for older adults (at least 62 years of age) and individuals with disabilities. There are 17 studio apartments, 290 one-bedroom apartments, of which 26 are designed to benefit individuals with mobility impairments, and 66 two-bedroom apartments. A majority of our units are newly renovated and updated.

Residents of Shepherd Park Apartments enjoy a wide range of services and amenities, including a computer lab with online access, organized classes, such as yoga/exercise, computer, sewing, dance classes, bingo nights, and wellness programs. A full-time resident services coordinator works with residents to coordinate access to individual home care services, light housekeeping, medical appointment companions, and laundry services, as well as daily delivered meals through Meals on Wheels.  Three of our buildings feature on-site community rooms, and five of the buildings have a laundry facility with card-operated laundry machines. We offer controlled access into the buildings, off-street parking for residents and guests, 24/7 on-site patrol guards, and entry access gates.

Shepherd Park Apartments is proud to be part of RHF (Retirement Housing Foundation), a national non-profit organization.  You can learn more about RHF by visiting www.rhf.org
